FOSTER or FOSTER TO ADOPT needed

Peri was found roaming the Perry Creek area in Wycliffe with a severe skin infection and a fearful demeanor.

She has spent the past few months healing in a quiet foster home as we learn more about her personality, medical needs and closely watch over her during healing journey. Peri’s foster mom has given gentle baths, snuggles and so much of her devoted time to Peri and we could not thank her enough. However, Peri's foster (who calls her Gemma), is experiencing her own health issues at the moment and is not able to foster Peri any longer. We need to find her a new home ASAP.

We don’t know much about Peri’s life before her rescue but she is an approximately 2 year old Deerhound cross.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗶 𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝘂𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗲’𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲:

✅ A human who’s around more often than not, she says she’s not a huge fan of being left alone.
✅ Someone who’s looking for a shadow - she’d love to be your little (or large) shadow!
✅ A quiet home, it’s okay if there are older children or men but Peri needs humans who are patient and won’t push her to interact with scary people before she’s said she’s comfortable.
✅ Someone who’s up for some goofy play - since she started feeling better, she’s looking for a willing playmate! Cats and small dogs need not apply for this role as willing playmate as Peri is a little too big to play with those guys just yet!
✅ Someone who understands when a girls gotta eat! As Peri arrived to us skinny, she understandably shows discomfort when other animals come around while she’s having a nice meal so a family who recognizes this need and knows how to make her feel safe will make Peri’s day.

We are looking for a foster who understands we’re still learning more about Peri and her medical needs, including what exactly Peri will need medically to be a happy and healthy pup.

We are also planning a trip to Calgary for Peri - to see a dermatologist to get a better idea of what is happening with her skin.

𝗪𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗶 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲. We also work closely with our dog fosters to support any behavioral changes or needs we might see pop up. Peri is booked in to be spayed as she continues to heal. All food, treats, bedding and supplies including leashes, harnesses, food bowls, chew toys, etc. are provided by the rescue. All you need to do is provide the loving home! ❤️
