Job Title: Volunteer Event Lead

Location: Cranbrook/Kimberley

Organization: Meant 2B Loved Pet Rescue Society is a volunteer-run animal rescue organization dedicated to fostering and rehoming animals in need.

Reports to: Director, Fundraising and Corporate Relations

Role Overview: The Volunteer Event Lead plays a pivotal role in organizing and executing fundraising events for Meant 2B Loved Pet Rescue Society. Working closely with the Director, Fundraising and Corporate Relations, this individual is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all aspects of events, including logistics, volunteer management,  and post-event reporting.

Responsibilities:

  1. Event Planning and Strategy:
    • Collaborate with the Director, Fundraising and Corporate Relations, to develop a yearly event plan aligned with the organization’s fundraising goals and objectives.
    • Conduct research and analysis to identify potential event opportunities and themes that resonate with donors and supporters.
  2. Volunteer Recruitment and Training:
    • Work with the Volunteer Training Lead to identify volunteers capable of participating in each event or recruit event-specific new volunteers as needed.
    • Provide training and guidance to volunteers on their roles and responsibilities for each event, ensuring they are prepared and equipped to contribute effectively.
  3. Logistics and Event Management:
    • Plan and coordinate all logistical aspects of events, including venue selection, vendor management, equipment rental, and transportation.
    • Assign roles and responsibilities to volunteers for pre-event preparation and on the day of the event, ensuring smooth execution.
  4. Promotion and Content Creation:
    • Inform the Content Creation Lead of event details and preferences for promoting it through various channels, including social media, email newsletters, and website updates.
    • Collaborate with the team to create engaging content and promotional materials to raise awareness and generate excitement about events.
  5. Post-Event Reporting and Evaluation:
    • Oversee cleanup activities after the event, coordinating volunteers to ensure a timely and efficient process.
    • Provide a short recap of the event to the Board, highlighting its success, the amount of work required, funds raised, and any recommendations for future events.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with volunteers, and stakeholders.
  • Experience in event planning, fundraising, or volunteer management is preferred but not required.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

The Volunteer Event Lead plays a critical role in driving the success of fundraising events, engaging volunteers and donors, and advancing the mission of Meant 2B Loved Pet Rescue Society.
