✅ Cats
✅ Kennel trained
✅ Good in a yard

At less than a year old, this will be Phoebe’s second home and she’s hoping that it will be her last.

Having spent most of her young life in a more rural area, the big city may be a lot for this sweet girl so she’s looking for that Kootenay lifestyle. Whether it’s running next to you on the quad or joining you on lake day for a refreshing swim, Phoebe is learning to really love adventure. As she’s decompressed over the past 2 weeks, Phoebe’s foster mom has discovered that Phoebe is a true lover of country life. Her current foster home is very much like the quiet home where she was raised and gives her ample time to spend outdoors, exploring rivers and lakes and taking in all of the exciting new things at her own pace. She lives with a child successfully in foster but of course, we always suggest that children and dogs be monitored closely to ensure safety.

Phoebe currently lives with her foster family which includes 5 dogs and even a pig! She gains confidence from her time with the other dogs and would love it if her new home had a canine sibling for her to hang with or had opportunities for play dates.

In foster care, Phoebe is learning leash skills, that coming when called means tasty snacks are in order, and how to feel more confident when strangers arrive at her property. Phoebe can show fearful behavior when she is meeting new friends and would love a family who will be patient with her as she learns that humans only ever bring good things.

Speaking of good things, let us not forget to tell you how food motivated Phoebe is – she’ll be a breeze to train when school is in session. This gal has so much to offer and would be a great candidate for scentwork games, agility, or just any mental activities that will help build confidence and resilience and relax the nervous system.

Phoebe’s Fav List:
Walk (or hike) time!
Meal time!
Playing with her friends

Meet Leonard, a delightful bundle of affection wrapped in fur! This sweet, cuddly guy is not just your average pup; he’s a playful soul who thrives on love and companionship. With a heart as big as his playful spirit, Leonard has effortlessly mingled with cats and enjoyed the company of children.
In Leonard’s world, every moment is an opportunity for joy and play. However, like any gentle giant, he could use a bit of guidance in navigating his surroundings, especially when it comes to mealtime manners. A patient family willing to provide gentle training on proper floor etiquette during meals will be the perfect fit for him.

When it comes to food, Leonard’s protective instincts kick in, making it essential for him to have a designated safe space for dining. His love for food is unmatched, and ensuring his comfort during mealtime will only strengthen the bond between him and his loving family.

Additionally, Leonard may need a gentle reminder of his size from time to time. Despite his belief that he’s a lapdog, his exuberance can sometimes overwhelm both furry friends and humans alike. But with a caring family by his side, helping him understand his gentle giant status will be a breeze.
In Leonard, you’ll find not just a pet, but a loyal companion ready to shower you with affection and bring endless joy to your home. With a little patience and love, Leonard will undoubtedly flourish, making every moment spent with him a cherished memory.

Chica

Approx Age: 4 years
Gender: Female
Breed:
Husky Cross

Meet Chica, the señorita Chiquita with a heart full of love and a zest for life! 🐶❤️

Personality:
Chica is an absolute sweetheart who adores meeting new people. She’ll greet you like a long-lost friend, and her favorite pastime is enjoying belly rubs while giving you sweet kisses. She’s vocal and loves engaging in conversations with you, showcasing her rich and expressive voice. Chica also enjoys napping on the couch next to you, revelling in ear massages.

Interactions:
Chica is a social butterfly and gets along well with most dogs. She’s excited to run and play but is currently healing from an injury, so her playtime is limited. After healing, she’ll need supervision during playtime and may always have a slight limp. She’s also curious about small critters like deer and squirrels, so leash walks are essential.

🧒 Kids:
While she loves kids, Chica is better suited for households with older children, around ten years or older, to ensure her comfort and safety during her recovery. If you have a more mature and predictable household, Chica could be your perfect companion!

Energy Level:
Chica’s activity levels have been temporarily slowed due to her injury, but she’s on the path to recovery. She’ll soon enjoy short, mellow walks and leisurely play. Her ideal home would offer her the love and care she deserves while respecting her mobility needs.

Health:
Chica experienced an injury to her front right ankle’s ligaments but has been diligently cared for. While she may have a lifelong limp, her spirit remains undiminished. She might require a brace most of the time and should avoid strenuous activities. Currently, she’s on a daily gabapentin pill, which costs less than $30 a month.

Additional Information:
Chica’s current owner is looking for a loving home where she can thrive. He believes that Chica deserves a family that can provide her with the attention and care she needs. Ideally, a family that works from home or has someone present most of the time would be perfect for her.
If you’d like to add Chica to your family, please fill out an application to adopt.
