Through no fault of his own, Don-Kee is on the hunt for his new home. This boy was made known to us through our Courtesy Post program. Following a behavior assessment from our team, we now have some more insight into just how happy Don-Kee will make his new family. This young boy has so much love and trust to give. His current owner describes him as cuddly, smart and curious.

In his current home, Don-Kee can be found sleeping like an upside down pretzel, running amuck with his dog bestie in the yard, and going for car rides. He is playful, free spirited and just an all around good natured boy.

Don-Kee currently lives happily with another dog and would be a great addition to a home with a well-matched dog to keep his playful spirit alive. This gentle hearted boy is learning not to chase cats and he’s doing his very best (they’re just so dang fun to chase!). We suspect, with the proper introductions and lots of patience, he could live peacefully with a cat.

Don-Kee shows a mild level of anxiety at times when left alone but with some alone time training, we suspect he will settle in just fine!

Don-Kee would love to find a new home where he can work on brushing up the training his current mom has been doing with him. He is smart and eager to please but can sometimes let his excitement get the best of him, especially when guests come to visit! A properly placed babygate will ensure Don-Kee learns to keep his composure before becoming the greeting . He tells us he’ll be a real good boy for you!

At just 10 months old, Don-Kee is still very much a teenager and he’s hoping for a family who’s ready for a lifetime bestie. A home where he will be given guidance and gentle boundaries will be paramount to help him continue to grow into a well-mannered adult boy!
