This little firecracker is Rip, the Border Collie puppy. Born of an accidental litter to very friendly purebred mom and dad, Rip and his sister were the last of his siblings on the hunt for a forever home. Now that his sister has been scooped up by her foster parents, Rip doesn’t wanna miss out!
Rip is described as a curious cuddle bug who has an affinity for the best things in life - toys and food - of course.
At almost 12 weeks old, Rip has been exploring all the things life has to offer from the safety of his foster home. Rip’s foster home has allowed him to become accustomed to leashes, crates, cars, cats, other dogs and children. In fact, Rip gained his special name by his desire to RIP around the house with the children, haha.
Rip is a sweet and smart boy - learning new skills in his foster home like sitting for cookies and coming when called for extra good cookies! Rip is also getting used to things like car rides, learning that cats may not always want to play with him and weird planet human sounds like dirt bikes and quads!
Rip currently is learning to potty outside regularly and will sleep in his crate at night (but would love it if you were into snuggling ;)).
Like any 12 week old puppy, Rip is still mastering potty training university. Adopters will need to be prepared to watch for any “potty” signs to ensure Rip continues his success into his new home! Rip will stir in his crate 1-2 times in the night to let you know he needs a quick potty break ensuring a clean and cozy crate for sleeping.
Rip and his sister both showed a sensitivity to Chicken in foster so adopters are encouraged to work closely with their Veterinary Professional to ensure Rip is itch-free and healthy for years to come!
Once Rip’s joints are full grown, he’ll be your most devoted hiking buddy and best friend and we suspect, with his breed tendencies, he’ll be a big fan of physical exercise and brain games so adopters be ready!
Your adoption fee includes one VERY special boy, his neuter surgery when he is of appropriate age, his vaccines and a lifetime of love. It also ensures we can continue helping animals like Rip and his sister when they need it most.
If you would like to welcome Rip into your home, please fill out an application to adopt.
