Policies and Procedures

At Meant 2B Loved Pet Rescue, we prioritize transparency. Explore our constitution, bylaws, and key policies here.

Our Constitution and Bylaws (PDF) guide our work as an organization, dictate the powers of directors, and define our role in the community.

Meant 2B Loved Pet Rescue provides scheduled vaccinations for all animals while in our care. The adoptive family is responsible for vaccinations and any ongoing veterinary care that become due after the adoption is completed. The timing for the next scheduled vaccines will be included in the medical records provided upon adoption.

All Meant 2B Loved cats and dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. This cost is included in our adoption fee. If the cat or dog is unable to have spay/neuter surgery prior to adoption, the adopter must, as per the adoption contract, bring the pet to the veterinarian on the day booked for surgery by M2BL.

Meant 2B Loved Pet Rescue does not adopt animals out as gifts. All members of the household need to be in agreement with the adoption prior to it being approved.

We require that adoptive families come to us to meet with the animals in person. We do not facilitate adoptions outside of Canada and will not ship animals.

Meant 2B Loved Pet Rescue Society’s application process is extensive so we can better determine the right adopter/pet matches. For this reason, a same day adoption would be a rare occurrence. We require time to review applications, perform a home check, contact references, and arrange a meet and greet before adoptions can be processed.

Please see our policy on returning an adopted pet.
