Max is Redbone/Majestic coonhound. He is a really sweet boy who loves to sleep on the couch or a chair and if you let him he will sleep in your bed too. True to the breed he is very loyal to his owner and wants to be with them.

Max knows how to sit and plays well with other dogs of similar size and energy. He is a high-energy dog and requires plenty of exercise. He would greatly benefit from a secure, fenced yard as he loves to dig, and the fence should be secure enough to prevent his escape.

Being a hound, he has a natural prey drive, so he should not be placed in a home with cats. When outdoors, his instincts take over, and he loves to sniff around, jump at birds, and bark at deer, elk, and turkeys.

Max has undergone professional dog training sessions, and we would be happy to pay for a few more sessions with his new owner. He would also benefit from having a job, and we believe that with the right training, he could excel in search and rescue due to his incredible sense of smell.
